Council Member Karen Sheaffer has resigned from her position on the Gypsum Town Council due to personal and family responsibilities preventing her from performing her long term duties on the Council. We grateful to Councilwoman Sheaffer for her service to the Town of Gypsum and it's residents since the beginning of her term in 2018. Consequently, there is a vacancy on the Gypsum Town Council that will be filled by a majority vote of the Council at the October 22, 2019, Town Council Meeting. The appointee will then serve out the unexpired term of Sheaffer's vacancy, which ends in 2022.

The Town of Gypsum invites any qualified and interested parties to submit a letter of interest for the vacant council position to the Gypsum Town Clerk by noon on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Qualifications for those interested in being considered for the empty council seat are as follows:
- Must be a registered elector of the Town
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must have resided in the Town for at least one year
Candidates will be invited to make a short presentation at the October 22, 2019, Town Council Meeting. The Council will nominate and vote on a candidate that same evening.
