Gypsum Ponds State Wildlife Area is approximately 90 acres of marshland and ponds along the Eagle River offering the following recreational activities:
- Fishing: rainbow trout and cutthroat trout. A valid hunting or fishing license is required.
- Hunting: Waterfowl. A valid hunting/waterfowl license is required.
- Recreation: hunting, fishing, bird watching, and wildlife viewing.
Restrictions:
- Closed between sunset and sunrise except for hunters and anglers.
- Camping, fires, glass containers, boat launching and takeouts prohibited.
- Dogs prohibited March 15 to June 15 to protect nesting waterfowl. Dogs prohibited on eastern ponds except when used in waterfowl hunting.
- Field trails may be authorized in August and September.
