Gypsum’s next Municipal election will be held in April 2026. There will be three council seats and a mayoral seat to consider on the 2026 ballot. Each of these seats is a four-year term.

How do I become a candidate?

To be eligible to run in the 2026 Gypsum Town Council election, interested persons must:

• Be a citizen of the U.S.
• Be a registered voter within the Town of Gypsum
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have resided in Gypsum for at least one year immediately preceding such election.
• Not be a salaried employee of the Town during their nomination period and term of office.

If you are interested and eligible to run for an open seat on the Gypsum Town Council in the 2026 Municipal Election, you must first obtain a nomination petition. Nomination Petitions for this election will be available for pick up in Town Hall, or you may download and print your own petition when available in 2026.
