Title 10 of the Gypsum Municipal Code addresses topics related to traffic control regulations for the Town, including parking, street/snow route parking, traffic accidents, vehicle registration, and off-highway-vehicles (OHVs) use in Town.
Gypsum Parking Laws
- Please observe ALL posted parking signs in Gypsum or check parking regulations for your street with the Gypsum Police or Gypsum Planning Department. In some areas on-street parking is not allowed at any time, in other areas on-street parking is not allowed Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and in some areas on-street parking IS allowed except on trash and snow days.
- Disabled parking permits also serve as a Town parking permit.
- Service vehicles are allowed temporary on-street parking for the time needed to perform the service but are subject to the same restrictions on trash and snow days.
Free Town parking permits are available to residents with following restrictions.
- May be issued for up to six guest cars for one day. Each residence may be issued as many as two permits.
- May be issued for a maximum of two guest cars at a time, for a period not to exceed fourteen days. Each residence may be issued two such permit annually.
- Must be displayed on front windshield or dash of vehicle when parked on the street. Failure to properly display a permit may result in removal or impoundment of the vehicle.
- On-street parking, even with a permit and even for commercial service vehicles, shall not be allowed on trash or snow days as defined in the Gypsum Municipal Code. Violation of this provision may result in removal or impoundment of the vehicle
- Town of Gypsum issued parking passes do not restrict HOA fines and fees as applies to HOA guidelines. Some covenants in areas of town DO NOT allow on-street parking at any time including: Cotton Ranch, Buckhorn Valley, Chatfield Corners, Sky Legend, Brightwater, Willowstone, Gypsum Estates.

Please avoid...
- Parking across or blocking sidewalks, which forces pedestrians into the street/traffic flow.
- Parking the wrong direction on the street.
- The storage of any recreation vehicle, camper, fifth-wheel trailer, trailer, tractor, farm machinery, boat, commercial vehicle, machinery, construction equipment, dump truck, junk vehicle, inoperable vehicle, unlicensed vehicle, or any other object or thing, at any time on any town street, highway, public right-of-way or easement.
- Overflow parking at public parks or vacant lots.
- Overflow parking on adjacent properties, outside your property line.
Enforcement
- First violation = warning, unless it is a trash or snow day, then immediate removal can occur at the owner's expense
- Second violation = a ticket issued by the Eagle County Sheriff's office.
- Third violation = immediate tow at owner's expense.
- Fourth violation = may result in a summons to court.
Parking citations are handled through the Gypsum Municipal Court.
