1. Please come prepared by reviewing all information on our Passport Services page, as well as at the State's Passport Page, and please call us (M-F, 8am-5pm) at (970) 524-7514 with any questions before making the trip to Town Hall.
   
   
2. Fill out online, print, and bring the passport applications for all members of your family to Town Hall. You can also pick up an original form at the Town Hall prior to your appointment: PASSPORT FORMS
   
   
3. Your must bring originals and copies of important documents with you, such as Birth Certificate and Driving Lisence.
   
   
4. All passport applicants must be present. This includes all minors.
   
   
5. Both parents must be present for minor (age 15 & under) passport applicants. MORE INFO
   
   
6. For youth passports, ages 16 & 17, it is recommended that one parent be present. MORE INFO
   
   
7. Renewals can be done now online or by mail, so no need to make an appointment if you can answer YES to these questions.
   
   

8. Bring your photos to save your application processing time or come to the Town Hall any day from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm before your appointment to take/print it for $10.00. We recommend wearing dark clothes in your passport photo.

9. Standard passport processing time is 4-6 weeks. Expedited (+$60) passport processing time is 2-3 weeks. Processing times only include the time your application is at one of the Department of State's passport agencies or centers and do not include mailing times. MORE INFO
   
   
10. Separate payments are needed for fees during your visit to Town Hall.
    Please bring multiple checks or money orders with you for: 

• Passport Book or Card fee, paid separately to the Department of State that may be paid with a check or money order only and mailed with your application to the Department of State.
• If opting for any Additional Passport Services, such as expedited, file search, or overnight return delivery, these fees will be paid separately to the Department of State with a check or money order only and mailed with your application to the Department of State.
• Passport Processing fee, paid separately to the Town of Gypsum that may be paid with cash, check, or credit card.

Be sure to bring the following:

• Social Security number

ONLINE - Eligible U.S. citizens who want routine service can NOW renew their passports here online. No need to make an appointment with us.

If you do not qualify to renew online, you may also renew by mail. So no need to come to Town Hall if you can answer YES to these questions. 

Renew by mail if you respond "Yes" to all statements below about your most recent passport:

• I can submit it with my application.
• It is not damaged (other than normal wear and tear).
• I have never reported it lost or stolen.
• It was issued within the last 15 years.
• It was issued when I was age 16 or older.
• It was issued in my current name, or I can provide another document such as a marriage certificate or divorce decree that is evidence of my name change.
• It was not limited to less than the normal 10 year period of validity because I've lost multiple passports or I've had multiple damaged passports.

If you answered NO to any of the above, you need to apply in person.

You cannot renew a passport for a child under age 16 and must apply again in person using Form DS-11. Minors/Youth typically need to renew their passports in person since their physical appearance changes so drastically over time.

Each of the below fees require SEPARATE payments. If paying fees by check, or money order please be sure to bring multiple checks or money orders.

NEW Passport Book/Card FEES

Below fees are payable to the Department of State - check or money order ONLY.

• Adult Book- $130 per application
• Adult Card - $30 per application
• Minor Book - $100 per application
• Minor Card - $15 per application

Town of Gypsum Passport Services FEES

Below fees are payable to the Town of Gypsum - cash, check, or credit card.

• Passport Processing Fee - $35 per passport
• Passport Photos - $10 per photo

Additional Passport Services FEES

Below fees are payable to the Department of State - check or money order ONLY

• Expedited Fees - $60 per passport
• Overnight Return Delivery - $21.36
• File Search Fee - $150 -  if you got a U.S. passport in the past, and you cannot submit it with your application as evidence of U.S. citizenship.

For your added convenience, the Gypsum Town Hall is open one Saturday in the spring for Passport Services. This day is still by appointment (mainly to help manage wait times and lines) and all of our trained passport technicians are on hand to serve patrons. Walkins will be taken but on a first-come, first-served basis.

Take I-70 West or East to Gypsum, CO. Take EXIT 140 and travel south, straight through the roundabout, continuing under the railroad tracks. At the traffic light turn right onto Valley Road. Go approximately 400 yards on Valley Road and turn left onto Lundgren Blvd., then turn left at the "T" and the Town Hall is the first building on your right.
